Making a Difference

Run by Local Media Works, the annual Local Newspaper Week and Making a Difference campaign celebrates the role played by local newspapers in communities across the UK and the importance of highly trusted local journalism and campaigning. 


To celebrate local newspaper campaigning, 28 powerful local newspaper campaigns from the past year have been shortlisted for the Making a Difference award. The winner will be announced at the Society of Editors Regional Press Awards on 19 May. 


LNW is also a celebration of high quality, trusted local journalism in the run up to the general election on 8 June, and the vital role of local journalism in fighting fake news.
